Lose Weight with the Zone Diet Cure
This book is especially made for those who want to lose weight. It is also a perfect reading material for people who want to know more about the zone diet. Within this book you will learn a lot about what the zone diet is all about. One of the best parts about this book is that it explains to you in the simplest manner the concept behind the zone diet.
The zone diet is not just based on those theories of eating fewer calories minus calorie expenditure are equal to negative calories for the day which means weight loss. The zone diet is entirely based on a different concept proposed by Dr. Barry Sears who is Nobel Prize winner in medicine. He is the person behind the discovery of eicosanoids—and what’s eicosanoids? Learn about it inside this book!
So what are things that you are going to learn about in this Zone Diet Book?
- First and foremost, you will be introduced to the zone diet, what it is all about and most importantly the driving concept behind this medically studies diet.
- Once you get to know the concept behind the diet, the more the diet makes sense because it is based on scientific studies and research studies between the zone diet and the dieting norms in America.
- Then, you will be taught in a detailed manner on how you can start on this diet. Everything that you would need to know to start this diet is all here.
- Food charts are also included for easy tracking of food consumption.
- And last but not the least, I have also included several recipes and diet menus that you can follow from one-block recipes up to five block diet recipes. (You may or may not understand this, but this is very crucial in the zone diet).
So if you are looking for a weight loss diet that actually works then get this book.

10 bucks for this! Really? Oh God, how I miss the Amazon "Look Inside" feature. If I had been able to view some pages of this book (especially the table of contents to see how short it is), how few recipes and ideas there are, and how most of these "recipes" could be whipped up by a three year old, there's no way I would have paid $10 for this!I took a chance because all the reviews showed "Verified Purchase" next to it but there aren't very many of them so I suspect that the author got a few close friends to make some purchases. I guess this is the new way to get around posting fake reviews. I may be wrong but there's no way that this white paper, pamphlet or whatever you want to call it got such a high rating.
I'll give the author two stars for having the bazookas to actually publish something like this and call it a book and probably make some pretty decent coin from it. As they say, don't hate the player hate the game! I'm no hater, but let's be honest about it. It contains 51 pages but the first 25 pages are food equivalent tables that look like they must have been copied from a website somewhere. I say that, because some of the food items are listed as undesirable or unfavorable carbohydrates, yet they appear in many of her recipes. It's as if she didn't review the list and say "oh gosh I should probably take this out since a lot of my recipes rely on some of the same food items". She was trying to fill the book out.
Think about this: You can buy the Top 100 Zone Foods book from the man himself Dr. Barry Sears, for only about 7 or 8 bucks and that book tops out at around 362 pages. Even though the recipes in that book are not all my favorites, there's so many of them to choose that you're bound to find something that you like in it. So to pay 10 bucks for a paper thin pamphlet and a handful of recipes, some of which may not pertain to you if you are not in that block range, feels a bit like highway robbery.
I've been a long time Zone fan and I was looking for a way to expand my recipes using some of the low to moderate glycemic carb choices. Healthy delicious foods. As I flipped through the book, I saw that a majority of the recipes require little-to-no cooking which is ok but many don't use low to moderate glycemic choices for ingredients and can barely be considered a "recipe". It was basically cooking an egg or two in the microwave or making a quesadilla with a flour tortilla or chopping up some potatoes and cooking with some steak. These aren't the high quality and healthy recipes I was looking for. I want things to be fast and easy but I was thinking of something along the lines of Joyce and Gene Daoust's 40-30-30 books which are fabulous by the way if you are new to the Zone. They are among my all-time favorites but I've used those recipes so much that I'm getting tired of them and I've even applied some variations of my own. I was just looking for something new and fresh and I'm telling you, this ain't it!
Consider the fact also that you can get Joyce and Gene Daoust's original book called The Formula, in paperback for around $13. That book is somewhere around 300 pages and it is chock-full of ideas and recipes and guidance. It has the food equivalent tables in it too, but they did ut right: They have a section that they call Fat flush that only contains recipes with low to medium glycemic carbohydrates . This is for people who want to lose weight more quickly/steadily or really get shredded if they are athletes or even regular folks who just want to get healthy and look ripped. In the maintenance phase they include some recipes that have some of the higher glycemic carbs but they tell you that this will slow your weight loss and that this really is for people in the maintenance phase of the plan or who just want as occasional treat. They've gotten some flack in recent years for including granulated fructose in some of their smoothie recipes but granulated fructose is not the same as high fructose corn syrup so I feel much of this is undeserved. Some of those recipes are so delicious, healthy, quick and balanced and if you really have a problem with the fructose, you can easily switch out that fructose for coconut sugar or something else.
The Daousts, the Sears, and some of the other Zone recipe book authors have shown a lot of care and attention in their presentation of the recipes. They have shown a lot of care and attention to honoring the work of Dr. Sears and creating recipes that use healthy low-to-moderate glycemic choices. So to charge 10 bucks for this is unreal!
Sorry Naomi but this should have been a Kindle book for around $2.99. You know you are wrong for this baby girl!
I did manage to get a couple of laughs however. One of the reviewers said that the green smoothie recipe was delicious. This was supposed to be a one-block snack and she calls for a whole head of iceberg lettuce in the recipe. Who in the heck can choke down a smoothie containing a whole head of iceberg lettuce and two or three cups of water. And oh for the "healthy fat", you use cream. Really? Then there's the potato chowder recipe that calls for almost a cup and a half of cubed potatoes even though she list potatoes as an unfavorable carb. What!?!?

The Zone Diet Cure Zone Diet Meal Recipes for a Permanent Weight Loss Naomi Rowland 9781514686577 Books Reviews
good transaction-received in timely matter
A very short read but packed with a lot of information on food choices when eating with the Zone diet plan. I understand the blood sugar and insulin reaction in the body and how The Zone eating plan helps change the body from using sugar and storing fat to using fat and burning fat (not storing it).
I was badly in need of some diet plan to lose some weight. I'm really glad I bought this book, it is packed with delicious and easy to follow recipes. The first recipe I have tried green smoothie and its yummy. Hope i will lose some weight by following the recipes in it.
After reading “The Zone Diet Cure,” I realize that this particular diet is probably one of the best fits for me personally. I struggled with my weight after having three children, but thankfully, I am finally gaining back my control, rather than gaining more weight. Balancing hormones is essential, especially for women. The science behind The Zone Diet is very clear. This book will teach you how to balance your insulin levels properly with the right proportions of carbohydrates and proteins.
You are effectively in the “zone” when you are able to achieve this, giving your body the optimal ability to burn fat because your body is in balance. If you keep your body in balance, you will not store fat. Instead, you’ll become a fat-burning machine and achieve the waistline that you desire.
This book also goes in depth about healthy fats, which I believe are a vitally important addition to any weight loss regimen. The proper proportions of Omega-6 and Omega-3 can help reduce inflammation and assist with fat burning. Fight against fat with the right kinds of healthy fats!
“The Zone Diet Cure” includes a chart to help you choose the right amount of protein and carbs for your body type. My favorite recipes in this book are the Baked Salmon and Greens, and Chicken Garden Salad. The egg and spinach casserole is on my list of recipes to try. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is serious about transforming their health.
